PROPERTY INVESTMENT FIRM LOOKING TO BRING ON A HEAD OF ACCOUNTING TO GROW THE DIVISION
Position Purpose:As the head accountant you will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating property transactions, ensuring accounting compliance and client satisfaction.
This is a unique opportunity, you will be owning, developing, and growing the business. You will be working in close alignment with all departments and other cross-functional team members.
Position Overview:
The position of Accountant means you play a crucial role in the day-to-day finances of the business, this includes maintaining financial health, transparency, and accountability, providing accurate and timely financial information for decision-making. Previous experience of owning your own practice or business is preferred.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Tax Returns:
- - Entering and allocating accounting transactions for SMSFs
- - Undertaking bank and investment reconciliations
- - Preparing financial statements and tax returns for SMSFs
- - Managing rollovers, contributions, pensions, and lump sums for funds
- - Consulting with third parties such as the Australian Tax Office and financial institutions
- - Accurate record-keeping, processing, and system management
- - Supporting our network of financial and investment advisers
Financial Reporting and Statements:
- - Ensure preparation of various financial and management accounts
- - Reconcile bank and loan statements to ensure payments match
- - Prepare financial statements
- - Reconcile all items on balance sheets and report all abnormalities
- - Perform key daily tasks to coincide with monthly reporting, including daily profit and loss reporting
- - The preparation of rolling forecasts and managing the finance functions
- - Review and asses financial statements and identify financial performance issues or crucial factors to consider
Systems Administration:
- - Maintain accurate and up to date information in the company CRM
- - The ability to maintain accurate filing and records
- - Prioritise and manage workflow
- - Maintain regular correspondence with ASIC and ATO
- - Maintain accurate corporate records
- - Establish workload priorities
Professional Development:
- - Support with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with the CPA is provided.
