The Role

A key senior leadership position with National accountability to lead the Business Banking frontline customer relationship teams.

Business banking has been identified as an accelerated growth segment for the bank in creating new profitable revenue growth and the Head of Business Banking will have accountability to lead a rapidly growing customer proposition and deliver KPI’s in line with balance sheet and revenue growth, increase in customer numbers and relationship strength / satisfaction.

This role entails leadership in staffing, lending, and deposit targets, as well as overseeing lead generation, portfolio and credit management, and associated budgets and controls for business lending, deposits, and member relationships. It involves monitoring and ensuring the quality and growth of new business and portfolios, aligning with business unit plans and regulatory requirements. Providing coaching and mentoring support to the Business Banking Team to achieve key targets and KPIs is crucial. Additionally, developing and managing external business development relationships and internal lead generation channels to maximize new business opportunities for the bank is a key responsibility.

In the role you will:

• Actively participate in setting, monitoring, and reporting on budget targets for the Business Banking team
• Report on all aspects of the Business portfolio, including regular sales reporting, financial performance and profitability and credit risk adherence to risk appetite and strategies..
• Ensure quality credit submissions are prepared by all team members, considering and commenting on all areas of risk for assessment of loan approval by Member Credit Team
• Maintain regular reports on the business portfolio split by key parameters such as risks, industry, and security and ensure appropriate systems are in place to complete and accurately report on prudential requirements.

• Excellent communication skills for representing the bank, providing customer service, and resolving issues.
• Understanding of financial concepts, budgeting, and achieving sales targets.
• Proactive in identifying issues, finding solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
• Relevant qualifications are highly regarded.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
