Responsibilities- Lead the Student Experience of the University of Newcastle College of International Education and be the first point of contact for all students studying on campus, creating a supportive and engaged community between staff and students
- Provide excellent customer service, guidance and support to students regarding University of Newcastle College of International Education programs and services and respond professionally and accurately to students’ enquiries
- Coordinate and deliver major functions and events at the College including orientation and graduation to increase student engagement
- Organise student social events including Newcastle Experience Week, deliver presentations and drive student engagement
- Respond professionally, accurately and in a timely manner to students’ inquiries by email, telephone or in person
- Offer guidance in relation to student study progress and performance including attendance, welfare and transitional arrangements for new students
- Liaise with Academic Staff, Learning and Teaching Director and College Director on matters relating to academic performance of students
- Identify students who are not progressing as hoped in their studies and intervene with the required support while working closely with the Learning and Teaching Director and College Director
- In collaboration with the University and College Director, assist with Under 18 student management whenever required
- Liaise with the admissions team in relation to enrolment and post-admission enrolment processes
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration through positive communication to help foster a high-performing, student-centric driven culture
Requirements- Bachelor level qualifications (essential)
- 1-2 years experience in a student services role working with international students (essential)
- Up-to-date working knowledge of key legislation, policies and procedures relevant to international students (essential)
- A passion for Newcastle, the growth of the college and the success of College students
- Advanced knowledge of the University of Newcastle program offerings and campuses
- Positive and supportive communication style with experience across a variety of key stakeholders
- Knowledge of ESOS Code of Practice
- Proven experience in event management including planning, organising and hosting events
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to quickly learn new systems
- A self-starter with a professional image who possesses accuracy and attention to detail as well as flexibility and a can-do attitude
