Huntington’s Australia is a national leader in the delivery of services to support, empower and improve the lives of people impacted by Huntington’s Disease (HD). In addition to targeted NDIS services, the highly skilled and knowledgeable staff provide counselling, social activities, and assistance to navigate medical, allied health and government services for both individuals and families. 

The teams' knowledge of the symptoms and progression of the disease and its impact, makes it uniquely placed to also provide education and training for the medical, allied health, aged care and community sectors. 

This role, which is part of the Executive leadership team, offers a great opportunity to put your stamp on the development of sustainable services and programs that are valued by our community and network of professional medical and allied health providers.

More about the Role: 

Leading the national team, you will be responsible for: -

  • Developing and expanding our suite of Programs and services across all sectors and demographics.
  • Developing and implementing a model for effective clinical supervision.
  • Developing a framework for measuring the social and economic impact of our work. 
  • Identifying and realising business development opportunities.
  • Achievement of revenue and growth targets.
  • Development of best practice systems and processes to ensure services meet our clients’ high expectations. 
  • Achievement of business development targets including development and marketing of sustainable new services.
  • Development and integration of NDIS activities into Huntington Australia’s core objectives.
  • Achievement of Safety and Wellbeing KPI’s.

The Teams work closely together to provide seamless service for the HD community. 

To be successful you most likely have: -

  • Minimum tertiary bachelor’s qualification in a relevant field, such as allied health, psychology, social work or similar and registration with relevant body. A post graduate qualification in management or business. 
  • Substantial experience in and knowledge of NDIS systems and related government policy and legislation. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the legal responsibilities impacting in the sector, including National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. 
  • Substantial experience in an area directly related to health, disability or the community service sector.
  • Sound understanding of person-centred approaches and planning. 
  • High level knowledge of relevant government organisations and their services and systems. 
  • Awareness of the psychosocial aspects of progressive degenerative neurological conditions.
  • Extensive experience dealing with people with degenerative illnesses. 
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience managing a medium sized, geographically dispersed team.
  • Sound knowledge of change management principles and methods.
  • Experience in business development, guiding sustainable growth and performance measurement.
  • High level written, and verbal communication and relationship building skills.
  • Sound negotiation skills and the ability to influence.

Additions requirements:

You must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia. You will need a Clearance to Work with Children, a NDIS Worker Clearance and an unrestricted Driver’s License.
