About Us:
Fitzgerald State School is located in an established residential area in North Mackay.
Fitzgerald State School offers Prep to Year 6 with a current enrolment of 683 students. As well as class teachers, Fitzgerald has music and HPE specialists, a teacher librarian, a Chinese teacher, visiting Instrumental specialists, learning support teachers, a special needs teacher, a guidance officer and a school chaplain.
Fitzgerald State School offers a distinctive curriculum with extra curricula activities such as excursions, camps, learn to swim programs, sport, debating, academic competitions and a student council. Additionally, this school has a strong history of commitment to the Arts with a school musical, our 'Spectacular', an annual highlight and a number of public performances by its highly acclaimed drama and Wakakirri groups.

About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
- Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
