About the Role:
As the Head of Department – Home Economics at Beenleigh State High School you will;
- Manage the curriculum implementation from year 7-12 utilising the National Curriculum and Vocational Education and Training (VET) policies.
- Analyse data to identify potential growth opportunities for student pathways.
- Manage the Trade Training Centre facility to ensure maximum opportunities for students are provided through a range of Hospitality functions and community events.
- Build community partnerships with stakeholders to continue to develop future job opportunities for Hospitality students and promote Beenleigh SHS in a positive manner.
- Guide teaching staff in managing all aspects of student behaviour and engagement and where required initiate a focussed approach using a range of strategies.
- Develop a culture of continuous review and improvement through the annual review of goals and achievements.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
