About the role:
We are currently looking for our next Head of DevOps! This role will be based at our National Support Office in Burnley and will report directly into our General Manager, Digital. This is an exceptional key leadership role in our exciting digital team overseeing a team of up to 30 highly motivated team members and leaders.
This role is responsible for overseeing the continued development of our inhouse software engineering team to help to maintain and develop our Bunnings digital platforms. Key to success of this team is the delivery, quality and release management practices as well as the quality and speed to market of change. Our Head of DevOps will liaise directly with multiple large, complex external vendors to ensure developments are released to the highest quality and velocity possible.
This is an incredible opportunity for a technical leader who is analytical, can manage complexity well, can influence and communicate sophisticated ideas to a range of stakeholders and can define and set a vision well through to implementation! You'll need:
- You are degree qualified ideally in computer science with substantial experience coming from a technical DevOps background and now leading high performing technical teams
- You have led, coached and developed highly engaged teams and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- You bring with you extensive experience building complex consumer facing digital products and internal facing systems across web and mobile applications in demanding environments
- Experience working in a retail/consumer environment would be highly regarded
- You are passionate about software engineering and delivering best practices including Agile, Continuous Delivery as well as modern architecture and technologies
- You have demonstrated experience managing budgets as well as identifying and realising cost optimisation opportunities
