This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to exercise and boost their skills in a Telehealth role.
The RoleYou will provide psychological support services to persons with substance use issues in our Immigration Detention centre clinic. Key responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based psychological services through assessment, case formulation and case management, structured interview techniques and therapeutic interventions
- Triage referrals; conduct D&A assessments; follow-up persons with identified D&A issues
- Ensure D&A protocols are followed and for people deemed to be 'at risk', ensure that their needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner
- Ensure high standards of psychological care are delivered through individual sessions or in group therapy; administration of psychometric instruments and self-report measures etc
- Provide clinical reports to internal and external stakeholders when required
- Working with people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

- Full working rights in Australia and current general APHRA registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Minimum of 3 years post registration experience and experience with working with patient with substance use issues or in a D&A setting
- Experience in providing relevant supportive and therapeutic counselling, and psychosocial interventions
- Skills in D&A assessment and intervention (motivational interviewing, contingency management, other intensive psychosocial therapies) and MH risk assessment
- SMART Recovery facilitator – highly desirable or willing to obtain
- Current First Aid/BLS certificate or willingness to obtain
