As a Head of External Relations reporting to the General Manager of Public Affairs, you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of The Star Entertainment Group’s External Affairs strategy. Critical to this delivery is ensuring an effective framework exists for delivering consistent professional communication to external and internal stakeholders, and community partnerships.
A few of your responsibilities
- Provide advice to the Chief of Staff, General Manager of Public Affairs and senior Star Entertainment Group Executives regarding potential opportunities and the mitigation of potential risks within the external stakeholder domain
- Proactively support the Chief of Staff, the General Manager of Public Affairs and senior Star Entertainment Group Executives in their interactions with key external stakeholders
- Proactively manage external stakeholder queries and ensure communication strategies are prepared and key internal and external stakeholders engaged
- Manage the Group’s community relations and partnerships portfolio that enhances the objectives of The Star and provides positive media and engagement
- Provide appropriate submissions and correspondence to government or industry on a range of issues when required
What we are looking for
- Minimum of six to eight years’ experience in a senior corporate affairs, government role or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and communication ability to negotiate outcomes for the business
- Strong network of contacts in government, industry, corporate and media
- Tertiary qualifications in media, public relations, public policy or related discipline
- Computer literacy in Microsoft products
Possessing a high degree of confidence and exceptional relationship-building skills, you are adept at cultivating and leveraging strategic relationships across the private and public sectors. Your expertise extends to proactive incident management, ensuring organisational resilience and continuity. This combination of competencies enables you to navigate complex scenarios with ease, fostering collaborative success and achieving superior outcomes in a professional setting.
