The Opportunity

This is a brilliant opportunity to lead the finance function of a leading healthcare services organisation. Acquired by an Australian Private Equity firm in 2022, the business is well positioned to continue delivering strong results and growth and they are seeking an experienced and energetic finance leader to assist the CEO and Executive team to lead the company through its next phase of growth.

This position will lead and directly oversee the financial performance of the business and have an active position in strategic decision making through close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders. The Head of Finance is expected to be hands-on with preparing business cases and providing advice on investment projects, along with improving financial strategies and procedures to achieve the company’s short and long term objectives.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be integral in driving the business forward from a commercial and operational standpoint. If you are a high performing and hands-on finance leader, this is a brilliant opportunity to grow your career.

The Challenge

This is an ideal role for an outstanding finance leader who wants to play a part in shaping the future direction of the business. The role will be challenging and exciting as you are overseeing the routine of the finance function while also being directly involved in complex commercial matters and the strategic direction of the business.

Partnering with the CEO, the ELT, and the PE Group, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing business case and forecasting support to improve the financial outcomes reached by the business
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and contribute to strategic decision-making and business growth
• Developing initiatives to improve the productivity and profitability of the business
• Plan, implement, manage, and run all financial activities including financial reporting, tax compliance, business planning, budgeting, analysis, and forecasting. There is currently a small accounting team, so you will be required to be hands-on in oversight of the finance function
• Prepare and deliver accurate, timely and comprehensive financial reports to senior management, stakeholders and regulatory authorities
• Prepare and deliver board reports to key stakeholders outlining relevant financial information
• Cash flow management: manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure optimal financial stability and efficiency. Implement strategies to optimise cash management across the organisation
• Relationship management: engage with healthcare professionals including specialists and independent contractors, build relationships and assist in supporting their business growth and efficiency

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• An experienced Head of Finance with comparable experience in multisite operations, ideally within healthcare services. It is likely you have a mixed skillset and background in both financial control and commercial roles
• Possibly, you will be an experienced finance leader who began your career with KPMG, EY, Deloitte or PwC before progressing your career to be in a senior finance position in the healthcare services industry, or for a Private Equity Portfolio company, and you are now ready to step up into your first Head of Finance position
• It is a given that you will have a superior ability to balance strategic and commercial thinking whilst delivering operational excellence
• The interpersonal skills to engage closely with key executives in operations whilst also having the ability to present at the highest level
