About the role
The Head of Finance at Rapid Loans is accountable for establishing and controlling the financial systems and administrative services of the organization. This role involves providing quality data and insights to the Chief Growth Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
The Head of Finance will design and integrate existing and future financial systems to ensure robust, accurate, and timely financial data across all areas of the business, supporting day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
Key accountabilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide strategic financial management, including cost and revenue optimization, planning, and implementation.
- Manage and execute all finance activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations.
- Ensure cash flow is effectively managed and financial information for decision-making is complete, accurate, timely, and understood by users.
- Identify areas of potential efficiencies and implement solutions by re-designing and digitizing processes.
- Centralize or regionalize functions and processes where appropriate by establishing shared services.
- Ensure capital is allocated in accordance with agreed plans and robust processes are applied to the evaluation, measurement, and control of capital.
- Establish and monitor appropriate benchmarks and performance standards for the organization's financial position, ensuring financial management processes are identified, quantified, and reported.
- Establish and manage all significant financial risk exposure.
- Support the development of mergers, acquisitions, divestment strategies, target growth, and revenue opportunities.
- Lead the delivery of major commercial projects, including the negotiation of complex commercial transactions.
- Mentor and lead a small and energetic Finance department.
Required experience and qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Management, along with CA or CPA.
- Experience in managing a broad financial services division, focusing on long-term business viability and growth.
- Demonstrable experience in reporting to Executive Leadership Teams and Boards and effective communication of financial insights and strategies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
