Head of International
AusIMM is seeking an innovative leader to enhance our international initiatives. Your exceptional leadership qualities, strategic planning expertise, and knowledge of International markets will have you promoting global opportunities that will grow our organisation’s impact outside Australia. With a strategic mindset and entrepreneurial flair, you will understand business drivers and be able to develop and lead an innovative international strategy to positively impact commercial returns.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in driving the uptake in AusIMM professional development from resources professionals outside of Australia, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and implementing strategies to grow AusIMM’s global reach and reputation.
About the Role:
This newly created role will be responsible for developing and implementing AusIMM’s global export strategy for our professional development products and growing AusIMM’s profile and influence outside Australia. Possible duties include:
• Develop and execute comprehensive growth strategies to attract international professionals to AusIMM’s professional development (PD) programs.
• Develop new business opportunities within the International market.
• Cultivate comprehensive global engagement plans.
• Forge partnerships with key collaborators outside Australia.
• Establish new pathways to international markets for our professional development programs.
• Develop new sales strategies to drive the business forward in international markets.
• Actively review and report on competitor activity and industry trends
• Provide critical analysis and strategic advice on international engagement.
• Engage with key foreign partners.
• Build positive relationships with local and international stakeholders.
• Prepare high-level briefings, reports, and presentations for senior leaders in the organisation.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities in international markets.
• Prepare regular reports and analyses on export growth activities, including key performance indicators and trends.
• Develop and manage relationships with external stakeholders that can assist AusIMM with its export strategy such as government agencies, chambers of commerce, peak bodies and commercial businesses.
• Contribute to the development of marketing materials and promotional campaigns targeting international audiences.
• Represent AusIMM at conferences, workshops, and networking events to promote our export program and build strategic partnerships.
• Ensure a strong pipeline of opportunities is developed to raise AusIMM’s profile internationally.
• Review and report on market and competitor activities.
• Contribute to new product development to optimise AusIMM’s global positioning.
About You:
You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, and hard-working team within a business that welcomes your ideas and supports your career. Ideally, you will have tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, international development or a related field, as well as the following:
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and successful business development achievements in international markets.
• Experience with developing and executing strategies to grow business in international markets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective project management skills, with a focus on goal setting and achievement.
• Strengths in influencing, advocating, and developing and fostering productive relationships.
• High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
