The Role
We have an exciting new opportunity available as Head of IT Security and Risk in our Information Technology (IT) Division. This position will lead the newly established Security and Risk team playing a pivotal role implementing and running the Insurance Commission’s Cyber Security program.
Working closely with the Chief Information Officer, and as a key member of the IT Leadership Team, the Manager will not only ensure clear visibility and proactive management of IT security issues but also their resolution. The incumbent will champion employee engagement, cultivate top talent, and promote cost-efficiency. You will play a vital role in defending our operations from threat actors, continuously improving our defences to remain secure in a dynamic cybersecurity environment.
A five year fixed term appointment is available and a competitive remuneration package will be offered commensurate with skills and experience.
The Person
In addition to having a relevant tertiary or industry qualification, you will align with our values and have the capability to:
- lead and motivate the information security team and other employees to achieve security goals, even when only "dotted line" reporting lines exist;
- communicate information Security and Risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various levels in the organisation;
- design, implement and monitor cyber security programs in a complex IT environment; and
- develop and manage digital security policies, standards, guidelines, supporting frameworks and key performance indicators.
