About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to fill the role of Head of Learning Support at this school. The successful candidate will possess a Teacher Qualification with a minimum of three years of specialised experience in working with students with disabilities, along with current VIT registration.
The Head of Learning Support must exhibit personal attributes such as a deep commitment to the education of students with disabilities, patience, supportiveness, and encouragement. They should be approachable and sensitive to student needs, capable of building trust and confidence among students, staff, and families. Moreover, candidates should uphold the vision and values of the school, possessing a working knowledge of Christian education, familiarity with the curriculum, and expertise in addressing various disabilities and learning difficulties encountered by students.
They should be able to provide guidance and support to classroom teachers and collaborate effectively with specialists to ensure each student’s needs are met.
Requirements
- Experienced with NCCD and support business manager in ensuring the processes documented are implemented and recorded.
- Experienced with funding and assessments and proventrack record in identifying, investigating and determining factors related to this.
- Postgraduate training or qualifications in the field will be highly regarded
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and coordinate staff effectively.
- Excel in conducting meetings with parents, fostering partnerships in the best interests of the students, families, and the school community.
- Innovation in developing and implementing strategies, coupled with proficiency in verbal and written communication, numeracy, and computer skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel, are essential for this role.
