The Opportunity:

This is an important and senior role in which you will hold responsibilities for the autonomous management of regional logistics across all of our business units - including responsibility for Financial Performance, Safety Performance, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Customer Management, Fleet Management, Legislative Compliance and Environmental Performance.

Further and detailed responsibilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:

  • Establishing systems and processes to ensure compliance to legislation and road rules in relation to Heavy Vehicle Driver competency, Heavy Vehicle safety and contractor management processes.
  • Supporting and driving logistics efficiencies in conjunction with the business units to deliver lowest cost distribution costs through fleet utilisation and procurement strategies.
  • Ensuring maximum fleet utilisation and efficiency, with lowest cost delivery.
  • Ensuring Data and KPI driven logistics performance across the business.
  • Utilising data analytics to drive efficiency and cost performance in conjunction with the business units.
  • Ensuring maintenance of high standards of community relations within the local community.
  • Displaying effective leadership behaviours to ensure a highly motivated team.
  • Active involvement in the National Logistics Management Team to achieve optimum results for the business.
  • Identification, prioritisation, justification and managed expenditure of CAPEX

About you:

To succeed in this pivotal role, you will be a leader and a team player - someone who is passionate about driving overall business performance with a growth agenda and with solid, practical skills and knowledge in developing the capability of teams.    

Degree level qualifications in Logistics/ Supply Chain or in a related discipline will be highly regarded and a history of success in senior logistics leadership positions, ideally within related sectors will be essential.

You will have strong analytical and negotiation skills; thrive on engendering solid business relationships and be level headed and down to earth with exemplary standards of ethical conduct and professional judgment with a positive, resilient, curious and goal orientated nature.

This will be complimented by your focus on coaching and developing others and by your clear ability to find ways to put together solutions that add value.
