The role:
A rare and outstanding opportunity is available at Daimler Truck Australia Pacific as the Head of Marketing, Public Relations and Communications. This exciting position is responsible for developing, leading, and aligning the Daimler Truck Australia Pacific corporate brand with our strong global truck and bus brands: Mercedes-Benz Truck, Fuso Truck and Bus and Freightliner. By leading, planning and executing the corporate marketing and corporate strategy for DTAuP, you will ensure optimal collaboration and alignment across our brands, and work towards creating a cohesive Daimler Truck approach for our business. By leading a team of Marketing professionals, you will align and bring together a strong team of dedicated people, all with a united and focused goal for Daimler Truck Australia Pacific.
Reporting to the Vice President- Sales, Marketing and Operations, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the corporate Marketing budget for DTAuP
- Supporting and leading the Marketing team, ensuring staff are developed and managed
- Developing marketing communications in line with brand values and global and regional strategies for DTAuP across Australia & New Zealand
- Developing advertising, marketing, finance, event and insurance marketing strategies, based on global and regional strategy, latest product positioning and tactical market requirements
- Develop the overarching digital strategy for DTAuP, including customer and dealer platforms, digital marketing and advertising strategies and social media content plans
- Leading and collaborating with product, pricing and training to implement innovative strategies for agreed campaigns to support acquisitions and conquests across our brands
- Driving product awareness in collaboration with our brands
- Developing effective CRM and quantitative marketing initiatives to drive sales strategies
- Working with all brand Marketing Managers, in order to develop marketing strategies that help to achieve sales targets
- Leading, managing and executing the DTAuP group commercial sponsorship portfolio including locating, brokering, negotiating, tracking and evaluating partners according to global and local guidelines
- Leading, managing and executing the DTAuP shared events calendar including third party suppliers, planning, execution and reviews
- Leading, managing and executing ongoing dealer communication pieces from DTAuP Corporate Office
- Collaboratively aligning and establishing brand strategy and continuity between DTAuP brands to ensure a consistent umbrella approach where appropriate
- Directing Public Relations contact with government and industry officials
- Leading and executing the DTAuP corporate Public Relations strategy including liaising with journalists, media and publications along with reconciliation of coverage and outcomes
- Establishing, and overseeing corporate customer communication strategy and execution, including working with brand partner marketing teams to align communications, customer lifecycle and messages
- Planning and coordinating projects at a national and international level, and managing and working on project teams and committees
Qualifications
Who we are looking for:
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing a team with exposure to end-to-end marketing and communication functions and processes. You will be confident in making decisions with an ability to study, analyse and interpret complex activities or information to improve new practices or develop new and innovative approaches. You will have exceptional sales, business development or network operations skills. Your broad marketing experience, strong project management skills and negotiation skills will ensure your success in this position.
Ideally you will hold tertiary qualifications in Marketing, with a postgraduate in a related field. You will be a true professional and have excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and networking skills to deal with a wide range of high-profile customers and stakeholders. Your strong communications and facilitation skills, analytical thinking and results-oriented mindset, strong learning ability, and understanding of compliance management processes will lead to success in this unique role.
