Job description

Vestas Wind have a new position available for our Head of Supply Chain Planning to join an experienced and collaborative team in Melbourne.

This role encompasses aspects of our internal products and external Supply Chain processes to ensure our wind farms are constructed on time with minimal delays.

The purpose of Supply Planning is to ensure end-2-end planning across projects from early sales engagement to the last transport components have been returned from site. There are functions of Portfolio Planning Transport Planning, Project Planning and Manufacturing Planning under this department.

This position is imperative in directing our team members to move together and follow an agreed process. Ensuring a smooth, delay free Supply Chain throughout the business.

As the successful candidate, you will have extensive experience in complex Supply Chain environments. These could include construction, manufacturing or mining industries.

You will have an open communication style and work to see the best in your team members to ensure they provide the best outcomes possible.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise a small and experienced planning team to meet the current and future SCM scope, including development plans and performance evaluations.
  • Meet SCM KPIs and secure targets are achieved following the SQDC methodology.
  • Direct functional initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost across the Vestas organisation.
  • Own production planning, conducting regular reviews with stakeholders and project teams, including both regional internal and external factories, new planning system implementation in o9.
  • Monitor the execution of the plan and the performance of the factories, including deviations and recovery plans in collaboration with procurement, logistics and manufacturing.
  • Implement changes based on best cost and cash profiles.
  • Own risk management process to secure active identification, mitigation, and documentation of risks securing on-time-in-full delivery and cost.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, transport, and construction for managing the portfolio of project in the region, from EXW to On-Site Delivery.
  • Improve planning and delivery processes following simplicity & efficiently collaboration principles
  • Be a change agent and secure capability building through engaging with key stakeholders and the implementation of process improvements
  • Securing that all cost out opportunities are identified and implemented in SCM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in Business Planning, Supply Chain, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Masters' degree preferred.
  • 6-10 years of experience in complex value Chain Planning, touch area from pre-sales to final delivery on materials and projects. wind industry experience preferred.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of business units in a global organization.
  • Proven proficiency in analysis and problem solving with a risk mindset
  • Strong stakeholder management and project management skill are a must
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to facilitate a cooperative work environment, motivate, coach, and facilitate organization and employee development and performance.
  • Good, proven project and program management skills. Ability to develop, plan, and implement strategic short- and long-range goals.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate positive relationships and collaboration among stakeholders
  • Combined operational and financial acumen
