Do you love pastry, biscuits and cake? We have expanded our bakery production space and would love you to come on board and help us shape the direction of our viennoiserie.
Butterken Bakery is a passionate start up bakery who is dedicated to handcrafting sourdough bread (and now pastries) of artisan quality with a modern approach to health, sustainability, and taste. We bake on site with local ingredients in an open light-filled production space (we even have a balcony).
We are aiming to bring German bread culture to Australia. We have authentic pretzels and rye bread on the menu as well as German style cakes and pastries.
Your day-to-day:
- Managing the day to day in the pastry department
- Quality assurance
- Recipe development
- Weighing ingredients, operating equipment including mixers and convection oven
- Baking a wide range of quality products daily in a fast paced environment (pastry, biscuits & cakes)
- General cleaning duties
Must-haves:
- Experience with lamination
- Experience in a senior role is a must
- Team player attitude and high attention to detail
- Strong time management and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Availability on weekends (flexible/rotating roster)
- Love and passion for great bread/pastry IS A MUST!
