Head Pastry Chef

Mercuri Food Group are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Pastry Chef to join our staff on a full-time basis, designing a new menu to launch our new brand while supporting an existing one.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Design new menus, incorporating items such as gelato, cakes, and gelato sandwiches
• Develop new specials and offerings to keep the menu fresh and appealing
• Hands-on involvement in the production process, ensuring high-quality output
• Plan menus to ensure variety and balance
• Oversee production processes
• Manage the pastry kitchen
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
• Manage inventory and control costs to meet budgetary constraints

Experience & qualifications:

• Pastry Chef qualifications with Certificate III or IV in Pastry and Bakery
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position
• Exceptional pastry skills coupled with creativity to innovate
• Hands-on approach to demonstrating leadership
• Great interpersonal and people management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of quality
• Strong organisational and time management skills to manage kitchen operations
• Commitment to continuous learning, staying updated with industry trends and techniques
• Dedication to food safety and health regulations
