Leveraging Levy Australia’s cutting-edge, guest-centric approach you will be tasked with delivering legendary experiences for the up to three million guests to hundreds of events the park welcomes each year, including the world’s biggest tennis tournament, the Australian Open. The Position:
- Collaborate with the Director of Culinary to create, oversee and execute diverse, high end and innovative pastry and dessert menus to complement our other menu offerings.
- Ensure cost-effective kitchen management with quality control, inventory monitoring, and strict hygiene and food safety procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to a team of talented Pastry Chefs promoting a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Quality control, ensuring high-quality standards in taste and presentation/ attention to detail of all pastry dishes.
- Liaise daily with the leadership team regarding all aspects of pastry food production, & timings for daily events
- Management of ingredients inventory and ordering for the pastry department
The Person:
- Minimum Cert III Commercial Cookery / Certificate III in Patisserie with background preferred in hatted restaurants or similar.
- Demonstrated expertise in a leadership capacity from a corporate or multi-unit culinary setting, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Proven and recent experience in multiple aspects of patisserie and pastry production in a high-volume commercial kitchen.
- A passion for crafting innovative, trend-forward pastries and desserts tailored to a discerning audience, adding a distinctive flair.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment and maintain high-standards when under pressure.
- An exceptional communicator, ensuring collaboration among kitchen staff, management, and cross-departmental teams.
