Sonder is the lead agency of headspace Adelaide, headspace Edinburgh North, headspace Marion and headspace Onkaparinga.

Renumeration: Private Practitioners can claim under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (Better Access Initiative). Indicative remuneration (before-tax take home pay) can look like (*approximate): 

  • Social worker – 6 clients per day = $493.80* 

  • Psychologist - 6 clients per day = $561.30* 

  • Clinical Psychologist - 6 clients per day = $822.30*

About the Role:

We are seeking individuals who have strong clinical skills, and experience to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Individuals should have a demonstrated ability to provide focused psychological services and evidence-based assessment and intervention to young people.

You will also possess experience in a range of mental health service settings. Naturally, you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with strong information technology and information management skills and a high level of self-motivation and initiative.

Registered Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Nurses and Social workers are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be eligible to provide Better Access funded services under Medicare. The purpose of the Better Access initiative is to improve treatment and management of mental illness within the community. The Better Access initiative is increasing community access to mental health professionals and team-based mental health care, with general practitioners encouraged to work more closely and collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists.

Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in working with children, adolescents and young adults (12-25 years) exhibiting a range of youth mental health difficulties and with a range of backgrounds
  • Clinical experience of assessment to determine goals/areas of needs and case conceptualisations
  • Clinical experience in the provision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and/or other evidence-based therapies with young people aged 12-25 who have a mental health disorder.
  • Reviewing progress formally in collaboration with young people, family and friends to identify change/achievements, obtain feedback and set new goals/priorities
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement through regular evaluation, training and review

Qualification and Other Requirements:

  • Qualified in one of the following disciplines and membership to associated professional body; Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing.
  • Current Child Safe Environments (Through Their Eyes) Training is desirable.
  • Drivers Licence 
  • Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
