Our OpportunityWork Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue's Iron Bridge sites are located on the traditional lands of Nyamal and Kariyarra people (CHF).Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex PerthReporting to the HSES Manager at Fortescue's Iron Bridge Site, you will be responsible for supporting site operations at Iron Bridge, Concentrate Handling Facility (CHF) and at Shay Gap Pumping station and assisting with the implementation of Health & Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement in a dynamic mining environment.
Key Responsibilities- Day to day management of safety, medical and Emergency Services functions
- Coaching Senior and line management in all aspects of Health & Safety excellence
- Participating in the control of identified hazards where appropriate
- Facilitate safety investigations and implement harm minimisation strategies
- Coordinate the continuous improvement and compliance of our Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Ensures the Site Medical Centres are equipped with required resources in the provision of treatment for personnel.
- Ensure a state of operational readiness is maintained at all times, by Emergency Services, Security and Medical teams
- Ensures all required permits and appointments under permits are accurate and up to date and medical clinics are adhering to position permit requirements.
- Assists IPS, as required, with managing complex Workers Compensation claims.
- Provide data and guidance relevant to the effectiveness of Injury Prevention
Qualifications and Experience- Demonstrated Safety Lead/Superintendent experience
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Health, Safety, Hygiene or equivalent post graduate qualifications Degree/Diploma in Emergency Management or equivalent
- Previous experience in the Mining or Construction industry will be highly regarded
- Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) and an awareness of the WHS Act and Regulations
- Prior and demonstrated experience in emergency management, health, medical and security related activities.
- Previous experience in incident control/incident management
- Experience in procedure development
- Strong analytical skills, data presentation and reporting skills
- Experience in project management would be highly regarded
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers License or equivalent
