About the roleThis exciting role provides an opportunity to display your Health and Safety expertise in a diverse and varied workplace, on the iconic Wadjemup/Rottnest Island. The role will be required to provide support to all aspects of facility management and construction services performed by Programmed, allowing you to continue to build upon your existing skillset. The role will be based on Rottnest Island and require commuting from either Fremantle or Hillarys.
As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will maintain Programmed’s strong safety culture and be responsible for but not limited to:
- Assisting all teams with ensuring work activities have been adequately risk assessed and managed effectively to mitigate risk.
- Assisting Management and Supervisory teams in the training of employees in hazard identification and incident prevention
- Implementing and driving safety processes, risk assessment and SWMS development
- Conducting regular site inspections, workplace reviews and interactions with staff
- Conducting, managing, and reporting on all HSE incident investigations inclusive of, development and implementation of remedial action
- Collating Health and Safety information and reporting on the data at monthly intervals
- Developing and implementing new HSE initiatives
- Assisting with the coordination and management of workplace injuries
You will be an enthusiastic, self-starter, with a passion for making a difference when it comes to Health and Safety. You will have the ability to build positive working relationships with both internal network our customer representatives. The preferred candidate will ideally have the following:
- Cert IV/Diploma qualification or greater in Occupational Health and Safety
- Minimum of 3 years as a Health and Safety Advisor
- Construction White Card
- Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office suite
- Good time management
- Current C class Drivers Licence
- Experience working with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, AS4801 and Federal Safety Commission Accreditation (desirable)
