Our state-of the-art clinical trial centres based at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Joondalup are home to a wide range of medical, clinical and laboratory teams with our corporate office based in Nedlands.
We are now looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist to facilitate an implement a HSW framework across multiple work sites developing and managing robust health, safety and wellbeing strategies, policies, processes and procedures considering best practice and the operational needs of Linear.
Your Role in our Future
In this newly created, stand alone role you will take the helm in leading our workplace health, safety and wellbeing program and play a pivotal role in fostering a strong HSW culture through continuous improvement initiatives and the provision of expert guidance to staff, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for everyone. Working closely with the Chief People, Culture & Transformation Officer, you will provide your advice, guidance and expertise and have the opportunity to truly make a difference in an adaptable organisation that is ready for change in this space.
The job description will provide you with a full list of duties but some of your key responsibilities of the role include:
- Develop and maintain SMS and Plan and ensure the implementation and consistency of our approach to physical and psychological wellbeing and embed HSW standards.
- Regularly review, monitor and report on progress against the HSW plan and maintain and monitor HSWS risk register.
- Maintain all HSW standards, policies & procedures.
- Encourage and assist prompt reporting of hazards and incidents and conduct incident investigations.
- Provide assistance and support with risk assessments with clear guidance on practical risk reduction and evaluation to ensure the teams effectiveness in managing HSW risk.
- Manage Workcover and the Return-to-Work programs.
Conveniently located on Hampden Road in Nedlands, this role can either be offered as a full-time or part-time opportunity to suit the availability of the successful applicant and will also offer flexible working hours.
Your Experience
We're seeking a driven individual with expertise in health, safety and wellbeing who will raise awareness, give support and guidance around best practices and work side-by-side to co-create a happier, safer and more energised workplace.
Key capabilities for success in this role include:
- Extensive knowledge of relevant WHS Legislation, safety management systems and hazard management approaches.
- Recent and extensive experience in the management of workers compensation and rehabilitation cases.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement and relationship building capabilities with both internal and external parties.
- Demonstration of ability to incorporate health, safety and wellbeing requirements whilst considering commercially viable and practical solutions.
- Strong data analysis and risk assessment skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
