The City of Kalgoorlie Boulder is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Health and Safety Officer to support and implement all Health and Safety initiatives and programs, transforming the safety culture of the City, whilst supporting the delivery of the People and Culture strategy.
The Health and Safety Officer will ensure safety compliance at all times across all areas, and continuously champion a proactive, strategic, and coordinated approach, in all areas of Occupational Health and Safety.

Key responsibilities of the role:
Be a Health and Safety champion, assisting in facilitating safety campaigns for the organisation, and continually modelling behaviours that align with the City's values and culture;
Ensure hazard identification is in accordance with City processes across all business units and assist with all accident/incident reporting and investigations;
Drive the implementation of programs and initiatives that support safety and wellness across all business units with outcomes that support the City's vision;
Continuously monitor and review safety practices for improvements, focusing on prevention and increasing efficiencies and actionable initiatives to improve the safety culture;
Assist in ensuring all Work Health and Safety legislative requirements, regulations and compliance are met;
Provide the administrative support to the Safety Focus Groups and evacuation plans for the City;
Assist with Workers Compensation and Injury Management matters for the City;
Assist with Salary Continuance Insurance requirements for the City;
Assist with the review and maintenance of current Health and Safety processes and procedures;
Assist with maintaining training and vaccination records for the City, assist with the induction of new employees in relation to WHS requirements;
Attend workplaces to carry out WHS checks and inspections as directed by the Coordinator Health and Safety.

This is a fixed term contract, ending on 27th March 2025.

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Salary ranges between $69,073 to $75,405
