ABOUT THE ROLE:

Summary of the role: 

Are you passionate about improving health outcomes via communications?

The Health Literacy Coordinator will utilise their administration, coordination and organisational skills to contribute to the successful delivery of Mercy Health’s Health Literacy Framework and associated quality improvement program.  

  • Part-time role supporting improved communication and best-practice Health Literacy initiatives
  • Database management
  • Support health services to identify and action improvements to patient experience
  • Design and help facilitate awareness events and focus group discussions
  • Work collaboratively with others to ensure health services meet criteria for patient-centred care
  • Champion plain language in verbal and written communication

 ABOUT YOU:

  • High level of interpersonal, communication skills (written and verbal) and computer literacy
  • Great attention to detail and great command of the written word
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Experience in a Health Service environment (desirable but not essential)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
  • Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).

Employment with Mercy Health is subject to satisfactory background checks which can include Police Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
