Job description

We have a unique opportunity for a competent, enthusiastic and committed person to join our Mookai Rosie team based in Edmonton. The Health Program Manager is responsible for coordinating health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and will work closely and in conjunction with fellow staff and clients to ensure the smooth running of our care and clinical operations at our locations in Edmonton and Earlville.

This is an affirmative action position open only to persons who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders.

For an application pack for the Health Program Manager position, please send an email to ****@mookairosie.org.au

The successful candidate for this position will need to demonstrate that they have these six key qualities:

  • Leadership. You are a leader within Mookai Rosie and staff will look to you for guidance. You need to efficiently delegate tasks and increase confidence in the operation of the organisation. You will need to generate employee trust and boosting morale by listening to input about how to improve processes.
  • Decision making. You will need to be pro-active and consider all details in a situation; making time-sensitive decisions to ensure efficiency.
  • Multi-tasking. The Position Description is relatively broad, making it important for you to be able to multi-task. You will need to perform various duties through-out your work day and will be responsible for multiple projects at once. To achieve this, you will need skills to prioritize tasks; managing time well and delegating tasks to appropriate employees.
  • Good verbal communication skills. You will need to provide clear instructions to staff and collaborate with fellow managers. Written communication skills are essential as they are needed for clear and concise report writing.
  • Technical Knowledge. A knowledge of the systems used at Mookai Rosie is essential for you to be successful as Health Program Manager. A familiarity with Best Practice and Microsoft programs will enable troubleshooting and the reduction of downtime. Knowledge of Mimaso would also be a bonus.
  • Respect for Confidentiality. The Health Program Manager is immediately responsible for keeping client records confidential. You will need to review existing polices and supervise employees to regulate who can access personal information and to what end that information can be used; allowing Mookai Rosie with relevant legislation.
