Southern NSW Local Health District covers a large area of the southern half of NSW. Where you'll be working
What you'll be doingThe Health Promotion Officer works to improve the health of individuals and the community and reduce health inequality by raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, disease and disability, and other health-related issues.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and eligibility for membership of an appropriate Australian professional association OR experience in a relevant Health Promotion related field.
- Experience with planning, implementation and evaluation of Health Promotion programs / projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to principles of evidence informed practice and ability to safely use innovative approaches where necessary.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate and consult with others, respectfully persuade others in relation to key messages and write clearly and succinctly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to competently use information and communication technology software for a range of purposes, including word processing, emails, document preparation, internet searches, data entry.
- Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.
