Health & Safety Advisor

HSE Mining

HSE operate seven (7) mobile equipment fleets at South Walker Creek .  Due to expansion, we are looking for an experiencedHealth & Safety Advisorto join our site based Safety Team. 

The Role 

Reporting to and consulting with the Project Manager, this 8:6 back-to-back role ensures HSE’s obligations under the Queensland Coal Mining Act are met.  The role will focus on education and up-skilling of the workforce regarding changes and improvements made to the site SHMS.

Responsibilities

Key aspects of this role include:

• Assist with the management & implementation of HSE’s Safety & Health Management System
• Deliver safety & induction training
• Coordinate workplace rehabilitation processes
• Promote a safety culture through values-based behaviours
• Undertake regular training needs analysis (TNA) to ensure skills on site match operational requirements

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, it is essential that candidates have:

• ICAM Lead Investigator
• RIIRIS301A – Apply Risk Management Processes. (S1)
• RIIOHS301A- Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (S2)
• RIICOM301A – Communicate Information (S3)
• RIIRIS402A – Implement and Maintain the Risk Management Process (G2)
• Generic Surface Induction (Standard 11)
• Trainer Assessor Competencies 
• Current QLD Coal Board Medical
• Current open drivers license
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• Competent on full range of Microsoft programs
• Demonstrated ability to deliver, assess and develop training and assessment materials
