Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, your primary focus is to influence a safe workplace by actively following the Health, Safety Management System and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
You will have strong demonstrated skills in incident investigations, risk management and assessment processes, implementing and monitoring of initiatives and programs, injury management and adherence to statutory obligations. Your accurate record keeping, attention to detail and ability to multitask, along with your capacity to establish effective working relationships, whilst working autonomously, will be crucial to your success in this role.
As a safety leader, you will have the ability to think outside of the box and the desire to be part of a dynamic, innovative team as well as a passion for truly keeping everyone safe. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to influence key stakeholders and achieve accountability and ownership. Moreover, you will exhibit a safety mind set and be able to think strategically to achieve clear health and safety goals.

As the successful Health & Safety Superintendent, you will have:
- Extensive experience in a similar role in underground mining operations
- Strong understanding of QLD Coal Mining Legislation
- Relevant tertiary education in Health & Safety (minimum diploma in OHS)
- Experience in ICAM methodology or similar
