- Fortescue's Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama & Pinikura (PKKP) People.
Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth
Join our team as a Health and Safety Advisor, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing safety practices within our dynamic mining operations. Your primary responsibility will involve spearheading the development, implementation, and coaching of Safety Management Systems, ensuring an unwavering commitment to continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with Leaders to advise achieving the strategic plan's objectives for HSES performance.
- Support leaders and team members with coaching and mentoring to achieve confidence and competence in safety compliance, assurance activities, and managing risks.
- Provide assistance and guidance in the investigation of incidents.
- Be actively involved in the Fortescue Contractor Management audit process.
- Assist in preparing and presenting Health and Safety initiatives and promotional material.
- Liaise with line management, consultants and government bodies.
- Assist operations with Fortescue's Incident Management System (BMS)
- Actively participate in the implementation of the Fortescue Major Hazard Program
Qualifications and Experience
- Australian full work rights with no restrictions
- Occupational Health & Safety qualifications (Cet IV and above)
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Safety Advisor experience (operational mining environment preferred)
- Mining environment experience essential
- Demonstrated high motivation and output under minimal supervision
- Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) (not essential)
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS and Mining Legislation
- Demonstrated experience in contractor management.
- ICAM Training (demonstrated experience in ICAM investigations preferred)
- Experience in safety procedural development
- Current full C class Western Australian Driver's License
