We are seeking a motivated Health, Safety and Environment Co Ordinator to work in our friendly and supportive team environment where your contribution is valued. Ideally you will have previous Health, Safety and Environment experience within the Manufacturing sector.  Utilising your existing skills, you will learn new competencies as part of our growing team with training and development opportunities encouraged.  

You will be supported by our National HSE Manager, and passionate Operations team within Victoria.  You will work across both our Victoria manufacturing facilities which are located in Melton and Kilmore.

Your Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure health, Safety and Environmental standards are maintained through our manufacturing facilities. 
  • Personally identify improvement opportunities and work with factory staff to implement them.
  • Work with factory management to implement the annual HSE improvement plan.
  • Provide ‘hands on’ support to all factory staff in the identification, assessment and control of hazards in the workplace.
  • Write, review, update and ensure relevant staff are trained in the RCPA safe systems of work (work instructions, manuals, guideline).
  • Identify training requirements for all roles, coordinate on behalf of staff and in consultation with management staff attendance at training and maintain records of training and re-training.
  • Develop and review occupational health and safety documentation such as SOPs, JSAs and Work Instructions.
  • Conduct training, information and communication sessions for managers, supervisors and employees on health and safety practices and legislation and the RCPA Management system.
  • Actively manage staff injured at work to ensure their return to work is optimised.
  • Promote and champion a zero-harm culture, by providing advice, support and driving implementation of Health Safety & Environment systems.
  • Actively participate in HSE incident investigations.

  • 2-5 years of production/ manufacturing experience in cement or related industries (preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Preferred qualification is a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety.
