The Role:
Universal Property Group, a well-established and stable Western Sydney multi-residential design and construct building company, have a need for a Health, Safety & Environment (OHSE) Manager.
The successful person will be responsible for all aspects of Safety and Environmental Management for the business. You will work closely with, Project Managers, Site Foremen and report directly to the Managing Director to ensure best practice across the OHSE area within our operations performing a role pivotal to building an informed workforce committed to safety within the Bathla Group working across a mix of urban development projects.
This is a new position within our structure so you should be well versed in Safety and Environment on multi residential building projects, an ability to develop systems and processes and ability to work across the groups projects and operations ensuring specific tasks are met, working with subcontractors, dealing with paperwork, Undertaking audits to ensure compliance with OHSE, Injury Management and QA policies and procedures. Planning where each project in going in relation to OHSE on site, including conducting site inspections, conducting incident investigations, implementing onsite drug & alcohol testing, managing and creating company systems, and rolling out safety training and other compliance activities.
Important Qualities:
- 5-10 years OHSE Management experience within the building and construction industry;
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and Trainer/Assessor experience is essential;
- Certification in Auditing/WHS Management systems;
- Knowledge of Work Cover and Injury Management;
- Ability to coordinate safety management systems;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to positively influence;
- Ability and passion to drive and influence a culture of safety on site.
