AddressStoddart Group are a leading supplier and installer of products to the residential building industry. A leader in what we do, Stoddart are the often unseen but ever-present backbone of the construction of a new home. This role will oversee the company’s Workplace Health and safety functions across a variety of divisions on and off site.
We’re looking for a motivated and safety-conscious Group WHS Manager to lead company-wide safety functions, initiatives, and programs. The Group WHS Manager will be responsible for continuous improvement ensuring compliance with Workplace Health, safety, environment, and industry standards.
The successful candidate will lead a team of safety advisors and will partner with our business units and key stakeholders to lead all aspects of health and safety. The successful candidate will be experienced and qualified with exceptional leadership skills and technical expertise to provide advice and support to the company.
Duties of the role include (but certainly are not limited to):
- Drive a safety-led culture across the business,
- Providing technical advice and support, as well as keeping up to date with industry standards to ensure compliance,
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and strategies,
- Report on key safety metrics and identify areas for improvement,
- Monitor and enforce compliance by conducting regular audits and inspections,
- Deliver safety training programs for a variety of employees across the business, and
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all safety related matters.
Ideal Candidate qualities:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a safety management role, preferably within the construction industry,
- A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent is advantageous,
- Technical expertise in regulatory and compliance requirements and industry standards,
- Ability to proactively identify compliance limitations and develop solutions/risk mitigation, to address,
- Excellent leadership and communication skills,
- Ability to build report with internal and external stakeholders,
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
