Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel), formed to develop the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird). Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which will be extracted and exported via the Port of Broome. Mineral sands are used in everyday applications including ceramics, sunscreen, paint, plastics and titanium products. The Project is located 140km by road between Broome and Derby in Western Australia and has a current mine life in excess of 37 years.

About the Role
Residing in the West Kimberley and reporting to the Superintendent Safety & Training, this is an exciting opportunity for a Health & Wellness Advisor to join our growing mining company.
This role will be pivotal in supporting Kimberley Mineral Sands to provide a physically and psychologically safe workplace for all employees. This role will ensure potential employees meet all Company health-related standards prior to their commencement, whilst also providing support for current employees following work and non-work related injuries.
Site based roster: 4 days on, 3 days off (Bus In Bus Out from Broome)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational health assessments, including pre-employment, ergonomic and biomechanical analysis, across all locations.
- Manage and facilitate return to work for Kimberley Mineral Sands personnel with work related and non-work-related injuries/illnesses in accordance with the Company procedures.
- Assist and liaise with onsite contractor personnel and injury management following work related injuries, including engaging external parties and stakeholders on injury management and workers compensation cases.
- Ensure fail-safe injury management with effective handover to ensure continuity when off-site.
- Complete timely and accurate reporting to the Safety and Training Superintendent including monthly reporting identifying relevant Health & hygiene data with trend analysis.
- Implement health and wellbeing initiatives, including system implementation, development and maintenance of a psychologically healthy workplace culture, and compliance with legislative obligations.
About You
- Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, or Occupational Therapist qualification
- Current WA C-Class driver’s license
- Knowledge of injury management procedures, practices and regulations
- Experience in developing and mentoring others in health and wellbeing
- Strong ability and skills in multi-tasking and time management
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence positive outcomes with key stakeholders
- Ability to work with minimal supervision to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
