We are seeking highly motivated individuals to offer a 4-year Apprenticeship in Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology - AUR31120, to be based at our Northgate workshop. You will learn about the repair, maintenance and servicing of a varied fleet, equipment and hydraulic systems used here at Cleanaway. Working as part of our team of 6 mechanics at the Northgate depot, you will have varied days that will include tasks such as:
- Assisting with vehicle inspections and diagnosing faults, as well as learning trade assistant workshop tasks
- Partnering with the parts department to obtain correct supplies for jobs
- Work hard to ensure a safe, clean and organised workshop
- Participate in depot wide activities including administration and safety tasks
- Learning from some of the best in the business as they keep our fleet moving!
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- Valid drivers licence, willingness to be upskilled to an HR license
- Forklift ticket would be advantageous, but we can upskill you on this
- Have finished your formal schooling and be confident with Maths and English
- Be flexible in your availability for a range of shifts, to assist our workshop to run at peak efficiency levels and to ensure you are able to attend training
- Previous work experience or training in an aligned field or industry would be considered advantageous but is not essential
Experience is not essential, however possessing a good attitude, being reliable and having a willingness to learn is – this is a four year apprenticeship with a blend of structured training and hands on learning. We are seeking candidates who have a genuine interest in pursing a career as a qualified Heavy Diesel mechanic.
