We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team for the following position:
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 3 years' experience as Heavy Equipment mechanic
Languages: English
Skills: Good communication skills, written and verbal
Knowledge of mechanical processes and procedures
Knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment
Must be able to work safely and independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 5 years' experience as an industrial mechanic
Languages: English & Spanish
Skills: Working knowledge of truck electrical system and maintenance, Vocational education / training preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for complete inspection, Maintenance, diagnosis and repair of Diesel and Propane Forklifts and mules at the different company locations.
- Observe functioning of forklifts and mules to detect hazards/problems and need for adjustments, repairs or replacement
- Duties will include adding fluids, changing air filters, updating service records, and reporting of maintenance issues requiring repair.
- Prepare equipment in accordance with company standards
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on forklift and mules equipment
- Safely disassemble, and repair or replace broken parts
- Dismantle, test and analyze malfunctioning equipment, hand tools and power tool and tests apparatus to locate defects
- Inspect, press wash and fuel equipment
- Clean and lubricate parts
- Document all work performed
- Knowledge of diesel engines and electric systems
- Ability to read schematics and isolate component failures
- Must provide own tools
- Valid US Driver's license
- Other duties as assigned
