To satisfy our customers ongoing requirements by performing a variety of tasks including the effective and efficient acceptance, securing and delivery of their freight whilst working and contributing to a quality high performing team.
We are looking to employ safety focused Heavy Equipment Operators on a permanent arrangement.
- Safe Operation of forklifts, front-end loaders, and reach stackers - loading of bulk material and unloading containerised product.
- Load and unload freight in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
- Operate all vehicles and equipment in line with company policy and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, fatigue and Heavy Equipment operating guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
- Perform general terminal duties as directed including completing basic data entry work in line with your role along with lower-level maintenance of equipment.
- Perform. plant and equipment inspection/prestart as per Aurizon policy.
- Handle bulk and pelletized dangerous goods.
- Utilise all available competencies and licences and be willing to obtain any necessary licences and tickets for safe and continued operation.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- High risk heavy forklift ticket.
- HR/MC license.
- CN / Reach stacker ticket.
- Front end loader ticket.
- IMDG card.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of Terminals, workplace health and safety, and dangerous goods.
- Substantial skill in carrying out routine tasks associated with terminal operations.
- Experience in heavy operations environment will be highly regarded.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Sound skill in the movement of goods and bulk materials.
- High level of interpersonal skills to grow effective internal/external relationships.
