EMJC Earthmoving and Plant Hire was established as an equipment hire and maintenance provider for the mining, civil and agricultural sectors of Western Australia. Our operations include Heavy Haulage & transport services, Earthmoving & Plant hire, and are backed by our service & workshops in Perth, Newman & Collie.
The Opportunity
Due to continuing growth in our Transport & Heavy Haulage division, we are on the lookout for an experienced Heavy Haulage Operator to join our growing team in Perth. Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be required to operate a variety of equipment including 50T and 100T floats, to meet all Heavy Haulage requirements.
Duties will vary but are likely to include the following.
- Wharf work
- Local machine deliveries
- Safety restraining machinery and equipment in accordance with NTC load restraint guide
- Completing prestart and other operational checklists and administrative paperwork
- Complying with fatigue management regulations
- Complying with EMJC Earthmoving & Plant Hire policies and procedures
- Experienced in driving heavy vehicles and other machinery to various locations nationally
- Ability to follow workplace and safety procedures
Essential skills and qualifications for this role include: -
- HC / MC Driver’s license and demonstrated experience in Heavy Haulage and specialised transport
- Experience in operating a range of low loader trailers with the ability to tow general trailers
- Able to be flexible for some Regional deliveries and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
- A sound knowledge of road transport legislation including fatigue management, permit requirements and operating conditions
- Detailed understanding of heavy vehicle road networks and remote locations
- MCIS card desirable
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
- Safe driving record and commitment to creating a safe work environment
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standards
