Heavy Rail Plant Operator
- Travel Victoria! This position will be based throughout Victoria. Working away from home you will discover parts of regional Victoria that you may not already know.
- This position runs on 10 days working away, 4 days off roster working both:
- Mornings: Day shift – 7am to 5:30pm
- Nights: Night shift – 8pm – 6am

- Great hourly rate on a competitive EA paid at $42. 4808ph plus penalty rates for shift work & overtime.

About the role
As the Heavy Rail Plant Operator, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Asset Management – Maintenance Group.
The purpose of the Heavy Rail Plant Operator is to operate plant used to lay, align, repair, and maintain railway tracks.
Key Accountabilities include:
- This position is required to operate / drive a truck and or plant in the medium to heavy category.
- Carry out tasks for the renewal and/or maintenance work related to the rail infrastructure.
- Participate in the replacement or renewal of track work and crossing work materials i.e., sleepers, rail, ballast, fastenings etc.
- Safely operate the plant and trucks as required.
- This position requires you to work away, do shift work, which includes Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday, &/or afternoon/night shifts, as part of a regular pattern or roster cycle.
About you
You must possess a zero-harm safety mindset and be able to work in a team environment doing laboring tasks as well as driving duties.

- Hold a certificate II Rail Infrastructure or be willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
- You will be a hard-working individual, extremely reliable and safety conscious with a strong team player attitude.
- Hold a valid Heavy Combination (HC) Truck License
- Loader, Backhoe and Excavator competence as required.
- The ability to work away from home for the 10 days on, as well as the willingness to work both day and Night shifts.
