About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Pilot and Station Manager you will provide aerial mustering services to company stations in Western Queensland, based at Durham Downs Station QLD. This is not a fly in, fly out (FIFO) roster. This will be a varied role in which you will have the opportunity to utilise multiple skillsets, firstly in aerial operations operating meticulously maintained company helicopters and then, when this is not required, working with the livestock operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aerial cattle mustering and general aerial work (checking of livestock and facilities);
- Ferrying helicopters for scheduled maintenance
- Ferrying company staff between properties (when required).
Skills and Experience:
- A CASA Commercial Pilot Licence Helicopter – CPL (H);
- Aircraft class rating for Single-Engine Helicopter (SEH);
- R22 endorsement, with a low-level rating and aerial mustering endorsement;
- R44 endorsement (desirable);
- Minimum 800 hours of aerial mustering experience (desirable);
- Current Class 1 medical certificate;
- Current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC);
- Experience in the movement, handling and processing of cattle;
- An understanding of low stress stock handling principles
- Fencing, stock water and general maintenance skills;
- Competent operation of various station plant, machinery and equipment and basic maintenance;
- A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely;
- Good understanding of animal welfare practices;
- A genuine passion for cattle and station life.
