The role
Reporting to the Home Assessing Team Leader, the Desktop Assessor is responsible for the end-to-end management of allocated claims. You will focus on establishing the cause, scope and cost of insured properties whilst maintaining excellent customer service.
- Conduct desktop assessments of insured properties using virtual assessing and/or causation reports provided by our panel suppliers;
- Produce detailed reports, determine cause, coverage, damage and best repair methods;
- Review scope of works and expert reports to ensure the most cost effective and timely method of repairs;
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including; local authorities and third-party building surveyors.
- Negotiate and define the scope of work and associated costing with key stakeholders;
- End to end claim management, managing a range of cost, quality and service controls in conjunction with the Claims Operations Team.
- To achieve consistent adherence to key performance measures (KPI)
- Submitting reports, reviewing SOW’s and documentation in a timely manner (as per set SLA’s)
- Previous experience working within the insurance, building or construction industry highly desirable
- Exceptional customer service and supplier relationship management experience
- Ability to thrive in fast paced high pressure environments
- Ability to prepare scope of works, quotes and estimations extremely advantageous
- Confident using technology
