The Role:Maxima, and Westminster School, are looking for a driven individual to undertake an entry level Horticulture Traineeship within their Property Services team.
If successful, you will assist in the upkeep and establishment of the collection of school grounds including infrastructure, gardens and property. Across 3-years you will gain practical experience and receive paid study time towards achieving a nationally recognised Certificate III in Horticulture.
Duties Include:
Maintain the School’s sporting ovals, cricket wickets, tennis and netball courts
Mow, line mark and prepare sports grounds for sporting activities
Apply fertiliser and pest control
Maintain the School’s gardens and lawns, including top dressing, pruning, mulching, fertilizing, planting, weed control, mowing, edging and hand watering
Install, maintain and repair irrigation and landscape design
About You:
Self-motivated with an optimistic approach to work
Enthusiastic team player with great communication skills
Customer service focused
Ability to work in a fast-changing environment
A strong commitment to work health and safety, and to working in a safe manner.
Role Requirements:
Current driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle
National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
First Aid Certificate (desirable)
Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol test
