Your new role
Drive efficiencies in tax effect accounting and tax data used to prepare multigap Tax Reporting - across the Australia and NZ Jurisdictions
Proactively improve both corporate and insurance tax related processes and controls and apply a risk recognition and mitigation mindset.
Manage the delivery of outsourced compliance and reporting, review, train, coach and provide feedback as required
Contribute to group processes to ensure robust systems and procedures in place to support compliance with all tax laws.
Contribute to the timely delivery of accurate data for monthly and quarterly tax accounting entries and quarterly account reconciliations.
Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and be regarded as the expert and accountable owner for your areas of responsibility because you understand the business and the connection to tax figures reported.
Provide guidance and coaching for other teams in relation to tax laws, risks and Compliance.
Support the management of regulator, auditor and advisor requests for information.
Ensure all Reporting and Compliance obligations are met.
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance
Certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA - highly desirable.
Exposure to USGAAP Tax Reporting and Australian and NZ tax compliance - highly desirable. A combination of experience of at least two of these in an investment management or finance environment is essential.
Considerable experience in a commercial environment, preferably within the finance, investment or insurance industry.
Good understanding of emerging tax technology and enthusiasm to champion implementation.
High attention to detail and the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies and provide risk-adjusted solutions.
Professionalism and conviction to escalate issues appropriately.
Proven ability to navigate and understand accounting systems and management of financial data.
The ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision-making.
Challenge norms and promote innovation through standardisation and automation.
Excellent communication skills to communicate with complex tax matters in a pragmatic manner
Ability to manage competing resources and demands.
