Maxima, and West Beach Parks Golf, are looking for a green thumb to undertake a Horticulture Traineeship.
This diverse, 3-year fulltime role, will see you assisting with the maintenance and development of the golf course ensuring the turf is maintained to a high standard.
You will develop relevant skills and knowledge within the industry through working hands-on, and support this with study on-the-job towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Horticulture.
Duties Include:
- Turf management including mowing and whipper snipping
- Golf course preparation
- Pest and weed control
- Irrigation maintenance and installation
- Rake sand bunkers
- Relocate holes
- Enjoy working outdoors and with garden tools
- Strong work ethic; reliable and punctual
- Ability to prioritise time and tasks when working under pressure
- Works effectively within a team and unsupervised
- Great communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude and willing to learn
- Available to work between the hours of 5am-1pm
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- Physically fit and healthy due to undertaking manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or similar (advantageous)
- A general understanding and interest of the game of golf (advantageous)
