The Belconnen Way Hotel & Serviced Apartments is seeking a Hotel Manager, either live-in or local. The role is suitable for an individual or couple. If you are experienced in Hotel Management or are suitably qualified and looking to move into hospitality, this may be the job for you.
This is a full-time, potential live in position for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individual or couple.
Experience and Qualifications:
2 - 5 Years’ experience in Hotel Operations, or
Strong administrative experience, and/or extensive experience in other roles or industries that are relevant to this role.
Solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and revenue optimisation.
Understanding of business compliance and licensing requirements.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Experience in staff performance management.
Sound customer service experience.
Your Role
Manage daily operations within each department of the hotel, including Front & Back Office, Reception, Housekeeping and Maintenance, providing effective leadership, guidance and communication.
Manage operational performance of the hotel through meeting and exceeding set budgetary requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant company guidelines, as well as federal, state and local laws including WH&S, licensing, fire regulations and essential services.
Manage performance of employees, co-ordinate recruitment, staff shift schedules, induction, training and development of staff with the ability to provide regular feedback to Owners.
Maintain strong working relationships with the Owners and ensure open lines of communication.
Manage third party organisational relationships such as with service providers and suppliers.
Manage and resolve guest complaints in a timely manner to ensure optimum guest satisfaction.
Regular monitor and report upon the Hotel’s operational and financial performance against the operational budget to achieve the annual set targets.
On-call night duties
Able to work evenings, weekends (on a rotating roster) and public holidays

Reliable and motivated with a positive and friendly manner
Strong team player, flexible to operational needs
Comfortable working with computers and a variety of software programs (Satin knowledge would be advantageous)
