The iconic Playford Hotel MGallery Collection brings together an eclectic mix of iconic South Australian experiences in one space and, in a sense, a taste of all that is on offer in the ‘quality of life’ capital.
The hotel was named after Sir Thomas Playford, South Australia’s longest serving premier and is built on the site of the original News Limited building.
The Playford was originally built in 1998 and recently underwent a multi-million dollar refurbishment. We are now excited to have re-opened our stunning new-look hotel with 182 beautifully appointed rooms and suites as well as “Luma” Restaurant and Bar which was awarded a chef hat from GFG in March earlier this year.

Job Description:
Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for:
- Analyse statistics and identify trends to gauge demand and pricing highlighting anomalies and opportunities for the hotel.
- Complete regular business on the books and pace analysis communicating results and targets on a timely basis to maintain a high level of ownership of these by the team.
- Proactively target forward dates of opportunity and concern working closely with the General Manager and Director of Sales to maximise revenue.
- Through research, communication with peers and experience, proactively develop new techniques aimed at maximising yield.
- Maximise room revenue turnover of the hotel, aiming at RGI & GOP optimisation & coherent positioning in terms of pricing, sales actions, visibility and segmentation mix.
- Develop a thorough understanding of various channels of distribution (wholesalers, inbound operators, travel agents, online sources etc) and be up to date on current and prospective trends in each segment.
- Assist in the development of the annual business plan and financial budget.
- In conjunction with the sales management team, prepare all short, medium and long term forecasts accurately and on a timely basis, track to budget; forecasts and last year.
About You:
- Minimum 2 years revenue management experience in a large or luxury hotel environment.
- Experience working in or a strong understanding of front office and/ or reservations highly advantageous.
- Strong financial acumen recommending budgeting strategies for revenue maximisation.
- Experience with STR and the ability to drive market performance.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Opera, TARS, EZ RMS & Accor systems
