About Us
St Patrick’s Community Support Centre (St Patrick’s) is committed to working in partnership with other agencies to support individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in obtaining stable accommodation, independence, and improved quality of life. We provide a range of services to support them on this journey, including emergency relief and meals, health and mental health services, drug and alcohol services, life skills training and a range of accommodation options.
The Role
The role reports to the Tenancy Services Manager and is responsible for our Service Housing’s residency and tenancy management of the lodging and housing portfolio in the Fremantle area and surrounds.
- Update vacant rooms using the tenancy database (Chintaro) vacancy module
- Conduct viewings of vacant rooms/properties with applicants and referred clients
- Ensure that residencies/tenancies are well established, including an awareness of residents’/tenants ‘rights and responsibilities, the house rules and relevant policies and procedures
- Assess, review and monitor rental payments, including the management of rental arrears
- Undertake regular scheduled inspections, including ingoing condition reports and vacate inspections and inventory as required
- Participate in the rotational on-call roster to respond to after-hours incidents and emergencies
About you
- Demonstrated experience of tenancy and housing management
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of clients
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team
- Knowledge of the legal framework social housing landlords operate within
- Experience in and a commitment to the provision of high quality direct services to clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills
- A commitment to the principles of equity of access and cultural diversity
- Proficiency with systems and Microsoft applications
Desirable
- Recent experience of, or understanding of, issues facing social housing providers
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience of tenancy and housing management
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Recent experience of, or understanding of, issues facing social housing providers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to
interact sensitively with vulnerable people. - Ability to work effectively as a team member and ability to work
independently when required - Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting the Aboriginal and ATSI Community particularly in regards to transience and homelessness, cultural
awareness and sensitivities
