Your New Role:
Network Steel is currently seeking 2x experienced Business Development Managers (BDM) in the Brisbane and Southeast Queensland Regions. As the BDM, you are responsible for the day-to-day management of Business Development for Network Steel in the Brisbane and SEQ region. The role will focus on attracting customers in Brisbane/SEQ regions while maintaining and managing customer driven tasks. As a part of the Network Steel team, you are expected to role model the values and behaviours to ensure a high performing and engaged culture. This role will sit within the Sales & Technical team and contribute to the business efficiency and continuity.
Key Responsibilities
As BDM – you will be responsible for -
- Attract and retain contracts in the Brisbane and SEQ region for Network Steel
- Develop long-term, strategic relationships with key customers to deliver outstanding service
- Identify relevant opportunities to stock, and supply, additional product, and hardware lines
- Collaborating with internal departments to facilitate client need fulfillment.
- Deliver to financials and market share goals
- Report on pipeline generation, leads and opportunities to management
- Ensure compliance for all invoicing and customer data.
- Ensure execution of the Brisbane & SEQ region, promotional & strategic plans
- Develop strong relationships with key customers and operations staff.
- Live the Network Steel values of Customer, Innovate, Accountability, Team & Safety.
- Comply with all Network Steel policies and expected behaviours
- Maintain records of work performed to facilitate invoicing of customer and reporting of KPI’s
- Ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with procedures
- Work effectively with the team by sharing information without interruption to service levels
What you'll Need to Succeed:
- A minimum of 3 years BDM experience.
- Proven knowledge and experience customer engagement
- A creative mind
- Proven experience in negotiation and closing deals/agreements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Growth mindset and eagerness to succeed
- Experience and ability to grow client base and achieve budgets
- Intermediate computer software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Outstanding communication skills which allows the ability to communicate across different levels of the organization
- Understanding of Steel Manufacturing in both the domestic and commercial sectors would be highly desirable.
