Hays Human Resources has a 2-year fixed term available for an experienced HR Business Partner to work within a large HR Team for one of our government clients with a salary up to $150,000k plus super. This role can be based out of a couple of different sites across NSW. Four days in the office and one day working from home.
Your new role
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for aligning business objectives with people leaders across the business nationally. You will also formulate relationships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect business objectives. Key tasks include:
- Provide workforce strategic and operational guidance, advice and support to designated MA State Director Leadership Team, People Leaders and employees as required.
- Provide coaching and advice to relevant People Leaders on complex HR/ER related issues.
- Supporting the operational side of the business
- Ensure HR/ER solutions provided by the relevant People's Leader achieve positive business outcomes.
- IR experience
- Experience working with both blue- and white-collar employees
- Respond to HR requests in a timely manner.
- Prior experience negotiating an EBA
- Complete other ad hoc work as directed by your People's Leader.
- Utilise people leader tools and resources and support leader development.
- Ensure managers are active participants in dealing with HR matters as per the HR Self Service Model.
- Utilise metric tools to educate People Leaders to improve operational performance.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a strong HR Business Partner with extensive experience as an HR Generalist having the ability to hit the ground running. You will be self-sufficient and have experience with employee relations (grievances, performance management and other complex issues); coaching and an ability to work in a fast-paced business.
You will enjoy working in a complex and diverse organisation and operating in a supportive manner by coaching staff on HR principles and practices. Previous experience working within the public sector would be advantageous.
